    What You’ll Learn

Is your puppy demonstrating unwanted behaviours like jumping, nipping at ankles, chewing on household items, digging and running away from you? In our group class you will learn the following:

    • Engagement: How to gain your puppy’s attention and focus

    • Group classes are especially beneficial for pups as they learn dog social skills very early on.

    • Proper techniques of clicker training (see description below)

    • New skills like sit, down, come and other basic obedience commands

    • Luring, heeling and introduction to loose leash walking

    • Touchpad work to teach your puppy spatial awareness and self control

    • “Place” command. This enables you to keep your own dog nearby and involved in activities without being underfoot, such as when you are eating or answering the door.

    • How to teach your dog recall (to come when called!)

    • Your pup will learn how to interact properly with other dogs

What we liked best about the Chilliwack puppy class: Instructor Deb was very good. She was knowledgeable, experienced and had an excellent demeanour with both people and the dogs. She was able to answer questions to more difficult scenarios specific to our own dogs needs. Having class notes to remember all the details was very helpful. Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our puppy class and loved our trainer Deb. We will look forward to getting Zoey into the next level in September once we can book. Thanks again. Huge recommendations from us!

Dog Training Method: Marker Training Sessions

What is marker (or clicker) training?

In a nutshell, it’s an animal training method based on behavioural psychology that relies on marking desirable behaviour and rewarding it. This black and white method of communication is based on positive reinforcement and will revolutionize the way that you train your dog.

This class will teach you about the power of training your dog with food and will focus on building the dog/handler relationship through engagement and motivation. During the class you will learn the basic concepts of luring, leash pressure and shaping of behaviours. We will also cover classical/operant conditioning and discuss how to build motivation in your dog through productive play. Marker training can be used to train any behaviour, from basic obedience and tricks to behavioural modification.

    Testimonials

Highly recommend. We had our 1 year old Springer Spaniel stay for over a week back in November. They were very welcoming even for a springer who can be a little reactive on leash and is not fixed, they welcomed him with open arms. The facility is super clean, lots of area for them to explore and keep occupied. It was our first time putting our dog in boarding but we came back so reassured and he looked happier than when we dropped him off. Booking system is great and you can put all details necessary. Price is excellent value and travelled all the way from Vancouver for him to stay there it’s that good. Looking forward to having him stay again in the 2024. Thank you to the staff and owners who were more than great ! Olly says thank you!

Our fur kids just love coming here! We are relatively new to the Fraser valley and were a little worried about our oldest dog adjusting to a new daycare. We knew he loved his old one because he would happy cry and get excited when dropped off. He does this with obedience unleashed now too! They love going to daycare here and always come home completely played out from hanging with some other pups. Marie is always kind and prompt and the rest of her staff are just outstanding as well from what I’ve seen so far. The “pupdates” during their boarding/daycare is also a nice touch. Thanks for being a much loved haven for our dogs!
