Initial consultation

Cost: $50 (30-45 min) at our facility

This IN-PERSON consultation is a great opportunity to meet our trainers and learn more about our training programs. During the consultation we will:
-Observe your dog (for example: watch their behaviour in the meeting area, around your car, around the owner, around the trainer and around the trainers dogs
-Discuss training options we have to offer
-Based on your needs, give feedback and recommend a training plan for your dog

Please note:
-The initial consultation is a one-time service designed to provide an opportunity for the trainer to observe your dog in the consultation setting, ask questions to the trainer and discuss a training program for your dog. The consultation is not an active training session or an in-depth behavioural assessment
-The initial consultation is 30 minutes, however you will be assigned a 45 min time slot, in order to allow some time between appointments.

PLEASE READ: The private in-person behavioural consultation with Head Trainer Andy Krzus, is geared for adult dogs or young adult dogs over the age of 7 months with behavioural challenges.
IMPORTANT: If you have a young puppy (under the age of 6 months), and are interested in interviewing the trainer or asking puppy related questions, such as potty training, how to stop biting, nipping, digging and other puppy behaviours. OR, if you have an adult dog that doesn’t necessarily have behavioural problems, but you would like to do some training and don’t know which class to start with. We suggest, instead of booking a behavioural consultation, please do one of the following:
1. Call 1-844-900-3647 Ext. 1 and leave us a voicemail to request a call back. One of our experienced staff members will call you back to chat and answer your questions within 1 business day. This is free.
2. Send us an email to marie@obedienceunleashed.com with your questions, we will respond within 1 business day. This is also free.
3. You are welcome to book directly into:

FOR PUPPIES: one of our Puppy Obedience classes which will cover all puppy related behaviours plus a comprehensive obedience curriculum.

FOR ADULT DOGS: one of our Obedience Bootcamp Level 1 class, which covers a comprehensive curriculum with a solid foundation of obedience.

What is marker (or clicker) training? In a nutshell, it’s an animal training method based on behavioural psychology that relies on marking desirable behaviour and rewarding it. This black and white method of communication is based on positive reinforcement and will revolutionize the way that you train your dog.  This class will teach you about the power of training your dog with food and will focus on building the dog/handler relationship through engagement and motivation. During the class you will learn the basic concepts of luring, leash pressure and shaping of behaviours. We will also cover classical/operant conditioning and discuss how to build motivation in your dog through productive play. Marker training can be used to train any behaviour, from basic obedience and tricks to behavioural modification. There are no prerequisites for this class. It is recommended that you bring treats, a food pouch, leash and a clicker for your dog. The class has a limit of 8 dogs. Please book online now to reserve your spot.

    Testimonials

    Olivia & Kai

I absolutely love Obedience Unleashed. I was first introduced to them when I started bringing my rescue dog for group walks. She was reactive to other dogs and the group walks really helped her overcome some anxiety meeting other dogs. When I switched jobs and my dog could no longer come to work with me, I was super happy they were able to walk my dog while I’m at work. Their staff is amazing with my dog. I recently adopted a puppy as well so I needed daycare and they are the only ones I trust with my little pup. My puppy loves all their staff and loves going to daycare. Their trainers are really great and their puppy class has helped me learn how to teach both my dogs new skills. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their work and I truly appreciate the care and concern they show for both my dogs. They work with the dogs but they’re amazing with training the owners too.

    Roman & Priest

I took my reactive German Shepherd to Obedience Unleashed for boot camp training when he was about 8 months old and it changed my dog. However with time he became more reactive towards people and other dogs. A few months ago I decided enough is enough and signed him up for 4 weeks of board and train.

I now have my dog back and he is completely changed. He has not only calmed down, he is listening and even my son can walk him. He no longer lunges at dogs or people. His obedience training is coming along nicely, and I know that if I do my part and stay on top of his training and work with him like Andy and Melissa did I will have an amazing dog who will walk in heal next to me off leash no matter what dog or person is near me or him.

The training was worth every penny, and the results I got for my German Shepherd from board and train is the exact reason why I came back for it and will never take Priest, my GSD, or any of my future dogs anywhere else.

Obedience Unleashed IS the place to take your pup, reactive, or just simply in-obedient dog to.
